POSITION STRUCTURE AND DETAILS

Reports to: Director of Missions Operations and Projects
Location: Eden Prairie
Hours/week: 11 week internship - 40 hours/week
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Missions and Evangelism Intern, you'll play a vital role in supporting our church's ENGAGE strategy. You'll assist in various missions and evangelism efforts and gain firsthand experience of global disciple-making and insight into the evolving missions landscape. Your tasks will include supporting ongoing projects and contributing to equipping and mobilization activities. Through your internship, you'll develop an understanding of our church's strategies for reaching the nations with the Gospel and actively engage locally and globally.

  Responsibilities include:

  • Learn the Grace Missions ENGAGE priorities.
  • Identify Next Gen engagement opportunities. Produce a call to action for Next Gen.
  • Weekly- Participate, recruit, and be one of the leaders for local GO Team outreach and local cross-cultural outreaches (Latino, Somali, and one other), and partner ministries.
  • Contribute to the future development of local GO Teams.
  • Assist in the NXT YA summer evangelism training.
  • Serve in a local and one global GO Team trip.
  • Interview Grace missionaries. Identify onramps for young adults to engage in local and global missions with our partners/missionaries.
  • Write a story for the Missions newsletter with a short video (Reel).
  • Assist with the development of evangelism training and discipleship.
  • Participate in the weekly Missions Team meeting.
  • Engage in Missions prayer rhythms (Monday and Thursday morning prayer, Tuesday morning and noon, Wednesday missionary prayer, and first Saturday prayer slot).
  • Take the Perspectives in the World Christian Movement Course.
  • Participate in ReVitalize training.

Goals:

  • Increase awareness of the Great Commission mobilization opportunities for the young generation (18-35) through our missionaries and partnerships.
  • Develop a core understanding of biblical missions.
  • Engage with the different aspects of Grace Missions.
  • Disciple others in evangelism.

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Preferred 2+ years of college-level education.
  • Proven team leadership.
  • Active in evangelism and disciple-making.
  • Strong interest/participation in global missions.
  • Agree with the Grace Church mission statement and doctrine.
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
